Terms and disclaimer
What these terms cover
These terms cover the dadwoven website and the free guides we publish, including The First Chapter. They are written for people in the UK. The publisher is The dadwoven team. We do not put a personal name to the work.
Not medical advice
This is not medical advice. Call NHS 111, or 999 in an emergency.
The guides are general information for dads and dads-to-be. They are not a substitute for your midwife, GP, health visitor or any other clinician. Health content in The First Chapter has been checked against guidance from the NHS (opens in a new tab), NICE (opens in a new tab), the Lullaby Trust (opens in a new tab) and GOV.UK (opens in a new tab). Guidance changes, and your situation may be different. Follow the advice of the clinician who knows your family.
In Scotland, 111 is answered by NHS 24. Wales uses NHS 111. Northern Ireland does not use NHS 111. The NHS lists the urgent-care route for each UK nation on this page (opens in a new tab).
Not legal, financial or employment advice
Parts of the guide touch money, work and practical admin. That is general information, not legal, tax, benefits or employment advice. Check anything that matters for your household with a qualified person, or with the relevant government service.
The guide
The First Chapter is free. We share it on the dadwoven WhatsApp channel (opens in a new tab). We do not promise that the site, the channel or the guide will be available all the time.
Guides marked coming soon on the website are not published yet. Please do not treat a title as a promise of a date.
Using the site
Do not misuse the site, try to break it, or scrape it in a way that disrupts it. Do not present our guides as your own work.
Our name and our words
The text, the guides, the name dadwoven and the logo belong to dadwoven. You are welcome to share the link to this site and the link to the WhatsApp channel. Ask us, on the channel, before you republish a guide or use the logo.
Other services
WhatsApp, Instagram, TikTok and X are run by other companies. When you use them, their terms apply. We are not responsible for what those services do.
Liability
We take care with the content. We do not promise that it is complete or up to date. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss that comes from using the site or a guide.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that the law says cannot be limited.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales can hear disputes. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also have the right to bring a claim in your home courts. Nothing here removes rights you have as a consumer that the law does not let us remove.
Contact and changes
Contact The dadwoven team on the WhatsApp channel (opens in a new tab).
We may update these terms. When we do, the date at the top of this page will change. This version is dated 18 October 2026.
